Motion of censure on the Commission
Jeg kan ikke stemme for The Left-gruppens mistillidsforslag mod Kommissionsformand Ursula von der Leyen. Ikke fordi jeg på nogen måde ønsker at forsvare hendes politik – tværtimod – men fordi teksten bag forslaget indeholder en uacceptabel og ekstrem antisemitisk tone. Det er dybt beklageligt, at venstrefløjen vælger at forpeste en ellers legitim kritik af Kommissionen med hadske og ensidige angreb mod Israel og det jødiske folk. Jeg finder det desuden ærgerligt, at venstrefløjen bruger sin energi på at splitte de kræfter, der faktisk står klar til at holde Ursula von der Leyen ansvarlig for hendes fejlslagne politikker — i stedet for at bakke op om Patrioterne for Europas eget mistillidsforslag, som på saglig og principiel vis retter sig mod Kommissionens magtmisbrug og manglende gennemsigtighed. Derfor stemte jeg blankt til The Lefts forslag, men jeg står fast på, at Kommissionen under Ursula von der Leyen har mistet enhver legitimitet og bør træde tilbage.
