2023 and 2024 Commission reports on Ukraine
Na plenárním zasedání ve Štrasburku jsem se zdržel při hlasování o zprávě o Ukrajině za roky 2023 a 2024. Ta se snaží zmapovat pokrok a současný stav, který Ukrajina jako kandidátská země pro vstup do EU za toto období dosáhla. Obsahuje mnoho bodů, se kterými mohu souhlasit. Patří sem výzva Rusku okamžitě ukončit jeho agresivní válku, prosazování územní celistvosti Ukrajiny, ocenění provedených reforem, ale i výzva k pokračování v boji s korupcí a politickým vměšováním. Zároveň zde najdeme řadu odkazů, které nehodnotí pokrok této země, ale spíše se snaží vyjádřit pozice jednotlivých skupin poslanců k různým politickým tématům. Nemohu například souhlasit s návrhem na reformu rozhodovacího procesu v otázkách rozšíření, který by měl nahradit jednomyslný souhlas členských států hlasováním kvalifikovanou většinou. Jsem přesvědčen, že s takto zásadními otázkami musí souhlasit všechny členské státy. Rovněž nemohu souhlasit s kritikou, že dosud nedošlo k uvalení úplného embarga na dovoz ruského plynu, aniž by bylo k dispozici nějaké rozumné alternativní řešení. V neposlední řadě se domnívám, že do této zprávy ani nepatří hodnocení postoje Spojených států k ruské válečné agresi.
