European technological sovereignty and digital infrastructure

Wir stehen in einem entscheidenden Jahr. Der Zustand der digitalen Infrastruktur und die technologische Souveränität Europas hängen maßgeblich von den kommenden Vorschlägen der Europäischen Kommission ab. Mit diesem Bericht senden wir eine klare und zeitgemäße Botschaft an die Kommission. Wir formulieren darin unsere Erwartungen an die künftige Gesetzgebung der Europäischen Union. Der Bericht wurde vollständig von der pro-europäischen Mehrheit im Industrieausschuss erarbeitet. Die sogenannte „Berichterstatterin“ Knafo hatte darauf keinen inhaltlichen Einfluss. Dass die extrem rechte Politikerin ihren Namen auf einem Bericht belässt, der keine einzige originäre Textzeile von ihr enthält, ist ein durchsichtiges Manöver aus innenpolitischen Gründen. Umso bemerkenswerter ist, dass derselbe Bericht ihre eigene Partei – gemeinsam mit der AfD – ausdrücklich als mitverantwortlich für antidemokratische Einflussnahmen ausländischer Regierungen auf die europäische digitale Gesetzgebung benennt. Klar ist: Die extreme Rechte darf keinen Einfluss auf die Sachentscheidungen des Parlaments haben – und damit auch nicht auf die Lebensverhältnisse der Menschen in Europa. Mit diesem Bericht ist genau das gelungen.
