Resolution on the need for the EU’s continuous support for Ukraine

Jsem především rád, že se nový Evropský parlament hned na své první plenární schůzi drtivou většinou postavil za Ukrajinu a další vojenskou, finanční a jinou pomoc a přeje si aktivně oponovat ruské agresi i dalším útokům vůči Západu. Rovněž nedávný barbarský útok Ruska na dětskou nemocnici v Kyjevě si zaslouží důrazné odsouzení. Pokud jde o část rezoluce týkající se kroků Viktora Orbána v předsednické roli, jmenovitě jeho cesty do Moskvy, rovněž já ji odsuzuji. Pokud jde ale o odvetná opatření, nemyslím si, že by se měla situace dále vyhrocovat a že by evropské instituce měly plošně bojkotovat účast na neformálních akcích tradičně pořádaných rotujícím předsednictvím Rady. Proto věřím, že se z obou stran podaří otupit hrany, aby tato věc negativně nedopadala na Evropskou unii jako celek.
