Υπερψήφισα την έκθεση για τη δίκαιη μετάβαση στον κόσμο της εργασίας, όχι επειδή θεωρώ ότι το κείμενο ανταποκρίνεται πλήρως στις πραγματικές ανάγκες των εργαζομένων, αλλά επειδή η απόρριψή του θα άφηνε τους εργαζόμενους χωρίς καμία απολύτως θεσμική κατοχύρωση και χωρίς κανένα ευρωπαϊκό σημείο αναφοράς σε μια περίοδο βαθιών ανατροπών. Το κείμενο, όπως διαμορφώθηκε, είναι ανεπαρκές. Δεν είναι δεσμευτικό. Δεν εγγυάται εισόδημα κατά τη μετάβαση. Δεν κατοχυρώνει υποχρεωτικά προγράμματα επανεκπαίδευσης υψηλής ποιότητας. Η ψήφος μου, επομένως, δεν αποτελεί πολιτική αποδοχή του σημερινού πλαισίου εργασιακής ανασφάλειας. Αποτελεί συνειδητή πολιτική επιλογή ώστε να υπάρξει, έστω και ανεπαρκής, θεσμική βάση πάνω στην οποία μπορούν και πρέπει να διεκδικηθούν: • δεσμευτική ευρωπαϊκή οδηγία, • εγγυημένο εισόδημα μετάβασης, • καθολική και δωρεάν επανεκπαίδευση, • πλήρης προστασία συλλογικών δικαιωμάτων, • και ουσιαστικές εγγυήσεις για τη διατήρηση της απασχόλησης.
