Resolution on continuing the unwavering EU support for Ukraine, after three years of Russia’s war of aggression

Apoiamos a Ucrânia desde o início da Guerra, defendendo a sua soberania, a sua integridade territorial e o seu direito à autodefesa. Defendemos também uma Ordem Internacional em que o Direito Internacional, as normas e os valores coexistem com o poder dos Estados. Todavia, neste voto, o apoio à Ucrânia está a ser instrumentalizado para atacar um aliado indispensável – os Estados Unidos da América. A União Europeia e a Ucrânia precisam da parceria transatlântica para garantir a sua segurança. Enfraquecer essa relação compromete a nossa capacidade coletiva de dissuadir e conter a Rússia e alcançar uma paz justa. Sem os EUA, nenhum avanço significativo será possível. Assim, opto pela abstenção para condenar a instrumentalização política da causa ucraniana e reforçar a necessidade de unidade transatlântica.

Resolution on reinforcing EU’s unwavering support to Ukraine against Russia’s war of aggression and the increasing military cooperation between North Korea and Russia

O apoio à Ucrânia corresponde ao interesse da União Europeia e dos seus Estados Membros. É, por isso, lamentável que a esquerda e uma parte do PPE instrumentalizem a Guerra da Ucrânia para servir as suas táticas partidárias, nomeadamente para atacar Viktor Orbán e o presidente eleito dos Estados Unidos, Donald Trump. Infelizmente, muitos votos submetidos ao plenário do Parlamento Europeu que dizem apoiar a Ucrânia quase nunca têm que ver com essa finalidade, que nos deve unir, e têm como finalidade dividir e polarizar. Votarei sempre a favor do apoio à Ucrânia, mas nunca poderei estar de acordo com votos que atacam governos democraticamente eleitos de Estados-Membros da União Europeia e que podem colocar em causa as relações transatlânticas, atacando o presidente eleito pelo povo norte-americano.
