Argumentów za odrzuceniem Sprawozdania w sprawie realizacji wspólnej polityki bezpieczeństwa i obrony za rok 2024 było wiele. Sam zagłosowałem przeciw, między innymi dlatego że: 1. Jestem przeciwny projektowi europejskiej unii obrony, który stanowi kolejny krok w kierunku federalizacji Unii Europejskiej. 2. Jestem przeciwny odejściu od zasady jednomyślności w sprawach wspólnej polityki zagranicznej i bezpieczeństwa oraz wspólnej polityki bezpieczeństwa i obrony, ponieważ kwestie bezpieczeństwa i obrony muszą pozostać w gestii państw członkowskich, a nie być centralizowane na poziomie unijnym. Rezygnacja z jednomyślności oraz przejście na głosowania kwalifikowaną większością głosów ograniczą zdolność poszczególnych państw do samodzielnego kształtowania ich polityki bezpieczeństwa. 3. Jestem przeciwny próbom ograniczania możliwości stosowania przez państwa członkowskie art. 346 TFUE, który gwarantuje ochronę podstawowych interesów bezpieczeństwa narodowego państw członkowskich oraz chroni rodzimy przemysł zbrojeniowy. 4. Nie zgadzam się na zwiększanie wspólnego długu UE na finansowanie unijnych projektów zbrojeniowych.
