Zagłosowałem ZA tą rezolucją, ponieważ w obecnym, najbardziej wymagającym od dziesięcioleci środowisku bezpieczeństwa Europa potrzebuje jasnej strategii opartej na silnym sojuszu transatlantyckim i wiarygodnym NATO. Sojusz Północnoatlantycki pozostaje fundamentem zbiorowej obrony Europy i najskuteczniejszą gwarancją bezpieczeństwa jej obywateli, zwłaszcza wobec agresywnej i rewizjonistycznej polityki Rosji. Rezolucja jasno podkreśla, że wzmacnianie zdolności obronnych Unii Europejskiej nie jest alternatywą dla NATO, lecz jego uzupełnieniem. Silniejsza, bardziej zdolna do działania UE oznacza silniejsze NATO i większą odporność całej wspólnoty transatlantyckiej. Dlatego poparłem podejście zakładające pełną komplementarność UE–NATO, interoperacyjność sił zbrojnych oraz ścisłą koordynację planowania obronnego. Dokument słusznie wskazuje również na konieczność wzmacniania europejskiego filaru NATO, tak aby Europa była bardziej odpowiedzialna za własne bezpieczeństwo i lepiej przygotowana na przyszłe zagrożenia, w tym działania hybrydowe, cyberataki i ataki na infrastrukturę krytyczną. To odpowiedzialna i realistyczna odpowiedź na obecne wyzwania, zgodna z interesem bezpieczeństwa UE i jej państw członkowskich.
