Recommendation to the Council on EU priorities for the 70th session of the UN Commission on the Status of Women
Am 12. Februar 2026 hat das Europäische Parlament eine Empfehlung an den Rat zu den EU-Prioritäten für die 70. Sitzung der UN-Kommission zur Rechtsstellung der Frau (CSW70) beschlossen. Der Text ist nicht-legislativ und rechtlich nicht bindend. Im Mittelpunkt stehen aus meiner Sicht zentrale Anliegen: Schutz von Frauen und Mädchen vor Gewalt, Zugang zu Justiz und wirksame Unterstützungs- und Schutzstrukturen. Ein viel diskutierter Satz in Unterabsatz (y) zur Einbeziehung von Transfrauen war dabei nur ein Unterpunkt unter vielen. Er wurde nicht separat abgestimmt; zur Entscheidung stand ausschließlich der Gesamttext. Ich habe zunächst den Schutzgedanken und das außenpolitische Signal der EU im Rahmen der UN-CSW höher gewichtet als diese Einzelformulierung. Gleichzeitig nehme ich die Sorge ernst, dass einzelne Passagen eines nicht bindenden Textes politisch instrumentalisiert werden könnten. Deshalb habe ich mein Votum auf Enthaltung korrigiert.
Resolution on the European citizens’ initiative entitled ‘My Voice, My Choice: For Safe and Accessible Abortion’
Die Resolution greift ein Thema auf, das viele Frauen unmittelbar betrifft. Gerade deshalb ist ein verantwortungsvoller und rechtssicherer Umgang erforderlich. Allerdings verfügt die Europäische Union über keine tragfähige Zuständigkeit zur Regelung nationaler Vorschriften zum Schwangerschaftsabbruch. Die vorliegenden Belange kann die Kommission nur dort sinnvoll adressieren, wo ein belastbarer EU-Rechtsrahmen besteht. Dies ist hier nicht gegeben. Auch der Versuch, über EU-Finanzierung faktisch Steuerungswirkungen zu entfalten, verlagert grundlegende rechtliche Entscheidungen in den Bereich der Mittelverwendung und unterläuft nationale demokratische Zuständigkeiten.
