Implementation report on the Recovery and Resilience Facility
De VVD heeft zich onthouden van stemming over het uitvoeringsverslag over de herstel- en veerkrachtfaciliteit (RRF). De VVD ziet de RRF als een eenmalig instrument en wil dat er wordt geleerd uit de gemaakte fouten. Zo moet er meer controle komen, moeten afgesproken hervormingen daadwerkelijk worden doorgevoerd en moet Europees geld besteed worden aan zaken die Europa sterker maken. Dankzij de inzet van Anouk van Brug als medeonderhandelaar zijn eerdergenoemde punten, in het bijzonder de eenmaligheid van dit instrument, verankerd in het verslag. Dat is positief. Het verslag roept echter ook op tot meer Europese eigen middelen: hier is de VVD tegen, aangezien die zullen leiden tot een hogere belastingdruk voor de hardwerkende Nederlander. Ook is de VVD geen voorstander van het idee om projecten te verlengen voorbij de deadline van de RRF in 2026. De VVD heeft daarom besloten zich van stemming te onthouden.
A revamped long-term budget for the Union in a changing world
De VVD heeft zich onthouden van de stemming over de prioriteiten van het Europees Parlement voor het nieuwe meerjarig financieel kader (MFK). De VVD vindt dat in het volgende MFK meer middelen naar defensie en innovatie moeten gaan, zodat Europa zichzelf veilig en welvarend kan houden. Dit komt in het verslag terug en dat is positief. In het verslag wordt echter ook voorgesorteerd op een grotere begroting, gefinancierd met meer eigen middelen en mogelijk ook gezamenlijke leningen. Op deze specifieke punten heeft de VVD tegen gestemd. Dat in het verslag geen bereidheid voorkomt om prioriteiten te stellen, vindt de VVD ook een zorgelijk uitgangspunt. Aangezien het officiële voorstel van de Europese Commissie nog moet komen, heeft de VVD besloten zich van stemming te onthouden en zal zij de ontwikkelingen kritisch volgen.
